Christmas at St Vincents

Message from Jessica, The Home Manager

Christmas is my favourite time of year, and as most of you are aware, St Vincents celebrates this season in style.

We have entered into the ‘Round the Island Christmas light bus tour’ again this year with Sothern Vectis, so everyone get voting!

Important Dates for everyone’s diary

1st of December – St Vincents Christmas lights switch on – 6pm.

We will have mulled wine and hot chocolate, along with mince pies and sweeties for the children. All family and friends are welcome. Social distancing will remain in place for this event.

3rd of December – ELF DAY – All day

This is a bit of fun for all. Staff will be dressed up as Elves for the day and will be participating in lots of Elfie games with the residents. ELF DAY is traditionally put on to raise money for the Alzheimer’s charity. However, If families would like to make a donation to this wonderful charity, please see myself or Gail in the office.

9th and 16th of December – St Vincents round the island Christmas light tour - 5.30pm onwards

We love this event! All residents have the opportunity to climb on board our minibus, that will be fully kitted out with Christmas decorations and lights. We will drive around the island searching for the best Christmas light display. Obviously, we know our display is the best 😊

We will make a stop for a Hot chocolate and mince pie before returning to St Vincent’s.

12th of December – Christmas jumper day! – All day

All residents and staff will enter a competition of the best and worse Christmas jumper or top. Let’s see those bright and wakey jumpers.

17th of December – Christmas Family party day – All day

We will be dressed up and ready for a party. Traditional Christmas games, a raffle* and dancing will be had, along with a Christmas inspired buffet getting us all into the festive spirit. Family and friends welcome.

*Raffle -

St Vincents Christmas raffle will be held on Tuesday the 17th of December. Tickets are available from the admin office. £1 a ticket. Raffle prizes will be held in reception from the 1st of December so have a good look at what’s up for grabs and getting buying those tickets.

All procedures go back into the St Vincents resident’s fund.

We cannot wait to celebrate Christmas 2024

Best Wishes,

Jessica McGovern -RM
